Jonathon Dow LMPA DipPP is a fully qualified member of the Master Photographers Association. The MPA contains around 1600 professional photographers worldwide. Jonathon has qualified in the chosen specialist field for ‘Weddings’.
Licentiate of the Master Photography Association - This qualification is based on photographic technical expertise, style and creativity and competency.
Diploma in Photographic Practice - This qualification was gained after an in-depth written thesis was produced, containing all aspects about Keylight Photography as a business and covered many subjects which included Customer Care, Health and Safety, Litigation & Statutory Rights, Photographic Technical Processes and Competence, Administration, Management etc.

I also have experience with Graphic Design that I use to create bespoke storybook layouts for photo and wedding albums, iPad Wedding Album portfolios and other digital and wall mountable presentation work. I will also be opening an online shop offering ‘matching motif’ art installations for bars, hotels and restaurants, later this year.
People tell me that I am one of the nicest wedding photographers they have met and that I always treat the wedding party with respect and discretion. So many other photographers are grumpy with the guests to ’stand in line and pose’ all the time. But the way I organise the whole day revolves around the comfort of the wedding guests, principle group and children. For me, the best part of the job is showing the Bride and Groom both the iPad preview images at the wedding reception and their finished portfolio. Job satisfaction doesn’t come any better than that.
Camera equipment wise, I am a through and through Canon EOS user as are a lot of Master Wedding Photographers. It always seems to be a toss-up between Canon and Nikon for professionals. I have used Canon EOS 5’s since I began Keylight Photography, so it was obvious to continue using the brand once I upgraded to digital SLR cameras. These days, I use a selection of professional grade EOS SLR’s. The best of which is the EOS 5D mkII, which is the current top of the crop from any manufacturer. In fact, a lot of wedding videographers have ditched their large, 3CCD, Hi-Def camcorders, in favour of replacing with a pair of 5D mkII’s for the sheer quality.
Whilst the majority of my customers require Wedding Photography in Birmingham and the West Midlands, I have branched out nationally and offer my services to the whole of the UK, particularly offering low cost Wedding Photography in London, Bristol, Gloucester, Wales and North England. My centralised location (next to the M42 J10) means that I can cover any location and keep my travel costs at a minimum. Local areas such as Nuneaton, Leicester are very popular for me. I am a very popular Wedding Photographer in Birmingham and Tamworth, which are both very local to me.
I also branched into photographing music events in 2009. Having qualified as a Master Photographer, I used these credentials to score contracts with Sony Epic and Universal Music, two of the largest record companies in the world. My music work has taken me abroad too, to places like Oslo and Brussels.

Wedding Fairs
Keylight Photography will be appearing at the following Wedding Fairs. A demonstration stand and various portfolios and enlargements will be on show. Bookings will be taken on the day. Methods of payment include, cash, cheque and direct bank transfers. Come along and take a look.
